    A Weekend In Birmingham

My birthday present from my boyfriend, John, was a weekend away in Birmingham. I’ve been to Birmingham plenty of times, it’s only 25 minutes on the train from where I live, and have been there to brave the shopping crowds at the Bullring. I had never stayed in Birmingham, or enjoyed any of the restaurants there so I was super excited. Here is a little review of what we enjoyed during our two night stay! Hotel Indigo – The Cube We stayed right in the heart of Birmingham at the Hotel Indigo, located within The Cube it offers amazing views over the city and was a great place to stay…

    A Brief Stop In Paris

Firstly, I’ll start off by saying our weekend in Paris wasn’t quite what we envisioned. I pictured romantic walks, cute coffee shops and stunning views. And although we got that to a certain extent, the reality was we spent the weekend avoiding the major protests happening across the city. It didn’t ruin our weekend by any stretch and I still had a wonderful time, but it definitely affected where we could go and how much we can see, which I suppose means I’ll just need to go back again soon! Where we stayed We stayed at the Hôtel Champs-Elysées Friedland, just 5 minutes walk from the Champs-Elysées. It was the perfect…

Managing my skin condition while travelling

One of the main things I was worried about before travelling to Canada was how my eczema would cope. A change in weather, hotel bedding that’s been cleaned with strong detergents, tiredness, anxiety and anything and everything that could trigger a flare. There were a few things that I did to keep my eczema at bay, thankfully I only suffered with a couple of minor flare days, and considering how bad my skin got last time I went on holiday I was feeling pretty grateful! Preparation Before I went away I got a list together of everything I might need to combat my eczema should it flare up. Creams, medications,…

My Contiki Tour Experience and Top Tips

Back in what seems like a lifetime ago (January) I booked a tour of Western Canada with Contiki. I booked the tour through STA Travel, and everything was taken care of for me, from the flights to accommodation for the night before the tour started. The Tour Over 11 days I travelled over 1,200 miles around British Colombia and Alberta. I explored Whistler, Jasper, Banff and Vancouver, with a couple of stop off nights in Kamloops and Vernon on the travel days too. I choose September as I thought it would be the best chance to see Canada in all it’s Autumnal glory, the weather however had other ideas and…

    A Night In The Cotswolds

My boyfriend and I were looking for a last minute weekend getaway, after suggesting the Cotswolds we began the task of looking for a hotel. The Cotswolds are, expensive to say the least, but then I came across a lovely little place called The Frogmill. It has just reopened after a major refurbishment and it looked gorgeous, as well as that it was more affordable than others in the area. The Room We booked a Superior Double Room, and it was really lovely. The decor was really classic and rustic, the bed was super comfy and we were away from the main hotel in a series of little annexes within…

    A weekend in Bath

Nope, not a weekend in a bathtub, but Bath, Somerset. I’d never been to the city, but heard great things so myself and my boyfriend decided to take a little trip away. It was the first time we’d been away together so I was excited to explore a new city with him! The Hotel We stayed at The Francis Hotel and well, it was beautiful! Set right in the heart of Bath, looking into a vibrant market square, it was perfect for our trip. The room was lovely, spacious (although the ceilings were a little low for my 6’4” boyfriend) and we had a lovely bathroom, with the best mirror for…
