I wrote one of these blogs quite a while ago, and my collection has changed since then so I thought it was time to write an updated version.
Finding a foundation that works with my dry skin has always been difficult. My eczema means that a lot products cling to my dry patches, irritate my sensitive skin and generally just don’t work. There are a few new and some old and trusted favourites that I reach for on all occasions.
Tarte Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation
This foundation is the newest to my collection, and I honestly think it’s my all time favourite. I know there was a lot of controversy when Tarte first released both the Shape Tape Matte and Hydrating foundations due to the very limited shade range. They’ve now expanded it and I took a guess as to which shade would match me, Light Sand, and thankfully it matched perfectly! The hydrating foundation is really dewy, blends easily and doesn’t sit on top of my dry skin. I think the only thing I’m not a huge fan of is the applicator, I feel like I won’t be able to get all of the product out of the bottle and a lot will go to waste once it gets to the end of the bottle. Other than that, i’m loving it!
L’Oreal True Match
Probably my overall favourite, I’ve gone through several bottles of this foundation over the years and will always reach for it when my skin is a little on the drier side. The shade range is great, it’s dewy and has great coverage. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable, hydrating foundation!
Boots BB Cream
One for those days when you want a lighter coverage and something to just even out your skin tone. Like the L’Oreal True Match I’ve gone through numerous tubes of this. I didn’t use it for ages and then recently rediscovered it and have used it a lot. The only thing is it is a tad on the dark side in terms of shade…and it’s the lightest shade available, Boots please bring out a slightly lighter shade of this, I love it!
Lumene Instant Glow Beauty Serum
I received this in a Birchbox several months back and I fell in love with it straight away. It’s a light coverage serum that just gives your skin a light glow, and is perfect for summer days when you want something that isn’t going to melt and slide off your face. I also enjoy wearing this when my skin is feeling a little irritated but I still want something to even out my skin tone. It’s a little pricey at around £27, but I would highly recommend it to my dry skin guys and gals.
