Skincare review: AproDerm

Spread the love

Over the last few years I have tried, I don’t even know how many, moisturisers to try and combat the dry and itchy skin that comes with eczema. Most of them were so thick and heavy that rather than absorbing into the skin they sat on top and left me hot and itchy, and well then I’d scratch and yeah, it’s a vicious circle.

The team at AproDerm recently got in touch, and sent me a whole range of their eczema skincare products to try out. I received the Colloidal Oat Cream, Emollient Cream and Gel, and I’ve been testing them out for the last couple of weeks.

AproDerm Gel

Probably my favourite product in the range, it’s quite thin and applies really easily, and the best part is that it absorbs into the skin really quickly, so it’s the perfect post-shower moisturiser to put on when you’re getting ready for work in the morning, without having to wait around for it to dry. What I also love is that it doesn’t have that horrible medical/chemical smell that so many of my prescribed moisturisers in the past have had, and it doesn’t leave my skin greasy. This will become my daily body moisturiser for sure!

AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream

Not one I’ve used everyday, but this cream has been great for when my skin has been feeling irritated. It contains Colloidal Oatmeal, which has anti-itching and anti-inflammatory properties, allowing me to use the cream, the itching to calm and there to be no further scratching and damage to the skin.

AproDerm Emollient Cream

I have to be really careful with what I use in the shower, and I generally avoid anything with fragrance, unless I know exactly what all the ingredients are. I have been using this emollient cream as a shower substitute, and while it doesn’t smell floral or fresh, it helps soothe my skin, and helps combat the dehydrating effects bathing can sometimes have on your skin.

All of these products come in either 500ml or 100ml, which means you can keep one at home, and another in your bag or on your desk at work. I’ve really enjoyed using these products and over the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed that my skin hasn’t been as irritated. If you have eczema, psoriasis or any other dry skin condition I’d recommend you give these a try.

Disclaimer: Eczema is a completely individual condition, while these products have worked for me, they may not work for you, so please do not be disheartened if you try them and they don’t work. These products were kindly gifted to me by the AproDerm team and all views are my own.
