I recently made the mistake of taking a good long wander around Superdrug, and a few treats may have just fallen into my basket. Here is what I got, and my first impressions!
E.L.F hydrating face primer
I really can’t make up my mind about this primer, it’s like nothing I’ve used before. It smells a bit odd, a little like cooking oil and it does feel a little greasy when first applied. However it does sink in quickly and leaves a nice base for make up to be applied over the top. I haven’t noticed any difference in whether this product prolongs the life of my makeup and it doesn’t seem to hydrate my face any more, or make it drier. I think I need to use it for a little longer to decide whether I like it or not!
Soph X Makeup Revolution highlight palette
This was a spontaneous purchase as I was stood waiting in the queue. I have always liked the affordability of Makeup Revolution, even though I have sometimes been a little disappointed with pigmentation in their products. But when I saw this collaboration with SophDoesNails I thought I’d give it a go. I picked up the highlight palette and I love it! The pigmentation and formula is beautiful and there is a great range of shades to suit every skin tone. I think this will become a drugstore staple in my collection.
NYX butter gloss lip
Nyx lip products are up there with my favourites, the range of shades and formulas they have rivals the other brands on the high street. I haven’t tried a product from the specific range of butter glosses so thought I’d give one a go. The colour and finish is lovely, i’ve always thought that Nyx lip products smell like marshmallow too, is that just me? Anyway, the only thing that lets this down is the staying power. It’s definitely one that needs to be reapplied every couple of hours if you want to keep that glossy look. But other than that i’m happy.
Clinique bottom lash mascara
Okay so I didn’t purchase this one myself, but I got it at Christmas and I just wanted to share with you how much I love it! I have never really worn mascara on my bottom lashes as the brushes were always too big to get an even coat on the lashes, and I could never get a good result. My mum actually discovered this product and told me how good it was so I was thrilled when I opened it at Christmas! I absolutely love it! the brush is small so you can get it all the tiny bottom lashes, it completes my make up looks. A definite 10/10 from me!
Benefit PunchPop liquid lip colour
Another Christmas gift! My dad chose this and I love it. It’s a really bright red colour that is great on its own or over the top of another lip colour. It’s super glossy and perfect for that pop of colour to brighten up any makeup look.
