So this year, as you’ll know, I have been in a permanent state of red, rashy, weepy, sore etc. skin. It has honestly been the hardest year of my life regarding my skin. I’ve been getting about 3 hours sleep a night, I’ve cried and screamed in pain it’s been that bad, and don’t even get me started on the amount of bedding and clothing i’ve ruined through weeping/bleeding skin. But is the end in sight?
About three weeks ago I began to heal, my face isn’t sore and swollen, my arms and legs are catching up too and are nearly healed. I don’t know what i’ve done for it to stay clear for the last couple of weeks, and I’m not holding my breath as it could kick off again. But I feel good, like really good. Can you eczema just do this and be horrendous for several months and then just clear at the snap of a finger?
I’m awaiting blood tests results to see if i’m intolerant to anything, so i’ll be back at the dermatologist for those in a few weeks. The derm also gave me a whole heap of new products and they seem to be keeping the flare ups at bay right now, my legs are sore, it’s as if the eczema is moving down my body, has anyone else experience this?
Could it be coffee?
I tested dairy and gave it up for a couple of weeks to see if that made a difference and it didn’t…which i’m grateful for because I did not want to have to give up cheese! I haven’t touched coffee in about four weeks, so I’m thinking it could potentially be that. Might have to have one to see if I flare, but not just yet. This is the first time my face has stayed clear for longer than 48 hours and I’m really enjoying being able to wear makeup, and even feel confident without it! It could just be a coincidence, but I think I can survive with coffee for now, I’ll wait for my blood test results and go from there!
A bit of advice
For those of you reading this that are going through a serious flare up right now, it will get better! I’ve had 8 months of hell, but I’m finally getting better, just got to keep my fingers crossed it stays like this! Stay positive!
