The Eczema Diaries

Spread the love

Normally I don’t like sharing this sort of thing on my blog, I like to keep it pretty and positive and full of all things beauty. But this isn’t my reality, not at the moment.

You’ll know from previous blogs that I suffer from eczema and have done for a long time. It’s usually kept under control with strong topical steroid creams.

Unfortunately about 4 months ago these creams stopped working, I think my skin just got to the limit and started rejecting them, thus making my eczema a lot worse and completely out of control.

So, fed up and at my wits end I decided to give up topical steroid creams altogether. I have read a lot of about topical steroid addiction and withdrawal and it has been in the back of my mind for quite a while and I have finally come to accept that this is probably what I have.

Going steroid free is scary and unpredictable and I have no idea what the next few months have in store. But I know it’s the right decision, especially in the long run!

When I have good skin days I’ll still post my usual beauty and lifestyle stuff but other than that get ready for a truthful, first hand account of going topical steroid free…fun!

The pictures below are hard for me to post but I feel I have to so that in a few months time I can (hopefully) look back and see the improvement in my skin!
