So it was pay day, and I had the day off work. Never a good combination! But I went into town and picked up a couple of beauty bits. I am trying to save my money but don’t want to cut out buying treats completely so I budget for things like this each month and once I have spent that money I don’t go over it. I have just got to remember that the money I am putting into my savings will be going to towards a big holiday next year!
Anyway, here are the few bits I got, I also did a video on my YouTube channel which I will leave a link to here.
L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation
This is the first foundation that I have ever repurchased I have a few bottles of half used foundation but I ran out of my True Match so I picked up another bottle because I love it so much. I went for a shade lighter then last time as I think the last shade I had was a smidge too dark, so I got the shade ‘rose vanilla’ and it was definitely a good decision as it matches me much better than the darker shade. If anyone has dry skin like me then I would definitely recommend this foundation, it leaves my skin looking fresh and dewy, without emphasising my dry patches that loiter around my nose and chin!
Soap and Glory sexy motherpucker matte lipstick
I wanted to pick up this lipstick from the new range as I have heard good things about them. I got the shade ‘pommie girl’ which is a light pinky berry colour (I’m not good at describing colours). I have already tried this lipstick and love the colour, the staying power is okay, but I could see myself having to touch it up if I wore it for a day out. All the shades in this range look lovely, especially the nudes so will have to get hold of some more next time I pop into Boots
Soap and Glory 2-in-1 brow filling pencil and brush
I have heard good things about this and first impressions are really good. I got the shade ‘blonde shell’, I’m quite pale so don’t want my brows to look too dark and I think this product is perfect for me! I don’t really need to fill in my brows and can get away without it but there are some small sparse patches in places so I like to be able to just fill them in slightly whilst still looking natural, which is exactly what I managed to achieve with this product.
Benefit Roller Lash mascara
Everyone raves about this mascara and even though I am faithful to my drugstore ones I couldn’t resist picking this up, especially as Boots had an offer where if I bought the full size product I also got a mini travel size one for free (worth £9). I tried this for the first time and I instantly fell in love with it. Move aside drugstore mascaras Benefit roller lash is here! Honestly, if you haven’t used this mascara before go and pick it up.
Benefit Watt’s Up highlighter
I have wanted to get my hands on this for so long but have always put it back on the shelf like my bank card told me to. But today I didn’t listen to said bank card and bought it anyway. I tried it on as soon as I got home as I was a little too excited and oh my god I love it! My cheekbones have never looked so on point, this will be making regular appearances in my everyday make up from now on!
So, that’s everything I bought, I stayed within my monthly treats budget which I’m actually quite proud of…. no more treats till next month but I think I have enough to keep myself busy until then!
